At Chalk Hill, we have spent decades exploring our land to identify and understand the specific characteristics of individual sites and blocks. With this intimate knowledge we carefully match red grape varietals to sites which maximize flavor and character. Our goal is to develop our estate’s potential in order to create wines that honor the legacy of this most fertile property. To illustrate the unbounded potential of the Chalk Hill Estate, selected lots from the noteworthy 2006 vintage were identified and given individual vinification. In the cellar, the bestbarrels from these best blocks were selected, blended, and bottled to create a cellar-worthy wine of opulence, power, breadth, depth and grace. I’m proud to give it my name.
