This vintage was truly optimal, with temperate, even weather from start to finish. Sugars in the grapes matched true physiological ripeness perfectly, which resulted in wines with great extraction balanced with soft tannins. Aged in the finest available French oak barrels for twenty months, the final blend included small amounts of Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The final, full-bodied blend possesses complex flavors of black cherry and blood orange with silky tannins.
