Light, bright yellow. Complex, pungent scents of orange marmalade, white peach, chamomile and deeper marzipan, with an overlay of dusty minerality and candied ginger. Deep, palate-straining pit fruit and floral flavors are enlivened by slow-building gentle acidity. Very rich but not outsized, with exotic finishing notes of passion fruit, smoky lees and fresh fig. There's plenty of oak here but the fruit beats it up pretty well. I'd serve this with a rich crab or lobster dish.
